Diana the Great

Meet Diana Leigh Benninghoff.

Star of The Benninghoff Family's Blog.

Inspiration for this blog.

First houseguest.

Yes, it's true. We moved in on Saturday, October 25 and mere hours later, one-year-old Diana was crawling over our doorstep.

If you don't know the Benninghoffs, I'll explain. Diana's Mommy and Daddy, Becky and Scott, went to Northwestern with me. I was there when they fell in love. Awww. Scott is a real life MARINE (hoorah!) so he was in town to run the Marine Corps Marathon. So what did the Benninghoffs do with their precious little time in our nation's capital? They fought traffic on the Beltway to come visit us! I warned them, however, that if they came to visit on our moving day, we would put everyone to work. Even cute, little Diana.

Diana arrived in an adorable blue and brown outfit, which, as you will see in later posts, became the inspiration for our color choices.

The first task was to tour the new house. Diana went up and down the stairs 172 times. We have no idea how Becky and Scott keep up with her endless energy!

Diana loved our shower! She loved singing loudly too. I agreed with her that the acoustics are quite lovely.

Next stop: Laundry room. She didn't say it, but I knew what she was thinking. Nice choice on the tile.

Diana then found the closet!

Now, the fun was over. It was time for Diana to get to work. We were sooooo lucky that Becky brought along Diana's vacuum!

I was secretly starstruck by the vacuuming, because I had seen her do these maneuvers in a previous blog post. Check out the video HERE.

Then, we put her to work unpacking boxes.

Finally, she modeled in the art nook.

Becky, Scott, and Diana, Thank you for stopping by our new home! It was thrilling to finally meet Diana in person!
