Decisions Decisions

The decisions continue as we rapidly approach our March 15 "Finalization Meeting." This is the meeting where we must lock in all of our color choices and options so that the builder can actually start building. One of the many decisions is whether to go with "honed marble" or "polished marble."

Until today, I did not know that "honed" meant the marble has a soft, dull glean and "polished" is just as it sounds--super shiny. Michael and I have no clue what is best so we have requested the advice of numerous family members. Essentially, each choice has its pros and cons. One of the biggest deciding factors is that polished requires more maintenance and cleaning. Can anyone guess which marble I'm leaning toward?

I'm not sure what the ultimate decision will be, but an e-mail I received from Michael today makes it all worthwhile--especially his "P.S." My thoughts exactly. (Note: Shenks was his e-mail nickname for me before we got married...I guess it has persisted.)

Shenks,

After further research, I like the marble tile we are leaning towards, not the shiny polished look. Your thoughts?

P.S. – Just a few weeks ago, I would have laughed if you asked me if I cared about the difference between honed and polished marble.
