A flower grows in Gaithersburg

Michael and I went to the model (again) to check our carpet samples against the color choices we made a few weeks ago. Before heading in, we drove by our homesite.

Mud puddles were everywhere so we weren't planning on venturing far.

Then, through the gloom, we noticed a bright, shining beacon of hope. A yellow flower! In the middle of our lot! It was the only flower as far as the eye could see.

Michael claimed it was a weed.

I like to believe it was a flower.

We left the flower and went over to the model to review our carpet. On the left is "Double Cream" and on the right is "White Smoke." The Double Cream will be in the rec room, and White Smoke will be in the bedrooms.

We then snuck into a house across the street that is nearly done.

Tile we chose for our front entrance:

Our style windows in the living room:

Granite "Ubatuba" in the kitchen (our cabinets will be a warmer maple color):

Master bedroom:

It was very weird to see an "empty" version of the house, but it was also very exciting because it gave us a vision of the blank slate we will get when we move in.

(Ok, ok there was no sneaking into the house. The sales rep Anna told us we could go in.)
