Meeting Asif

Today we had our "pre-construction" meeting with the project manager, Asif. He was very patient with us while we asked a ton of questions. Asif did a "walk through" of our house using the blueprints while Anna brought in samples of all our tile and color choices.

There was some bad news. Apparently, the City of Gaithersburg did not condone the siding color of "Almond" so the siding will now be "Maison Blanche." It is comforting to know the City of Gaithersburg is concerned with such "pressing" matters.

Asif seemed excited about our custom closet and HVAC choices. He also came up with the great suggestion of filling our art nooks with pictures of him and Anna. Tempting idea. At the end of the meeting, Asif agreed to pose for a picture for the blog. Thanks Asif!

After the meeting, we headed back to the site. It is incredible how much has changed since we were there four days ago! The cement walls and foundation are done. (The green walls from the other day were molds for the cement walls.)

Lots of dirt.

Pipes!

We met Moses, a very friendly construction worker!

This picture was taken at the back of our house looking over at Laurie and Mike's house. Their house is about three weeks ahead of ours.

Framing on our house begins in a few weeks!

Midge wants to know if the carpet you picked is stain resistant. She is afraid the excitement will cause an accident. Mazel Tov on the completion of both foundations - law school and the house!
