Driveway and Deck and Double Oven Oh My!

Life is slowly returning to "normal" for me. I have spent the past few days trying to flush bar knowledge out of my head, although it creeps back in when I least expect it. For example, I saw The Dark Knight on Sunday with my friend Ali (who just moved here to get her PhD at Hopkins yay!) and the "No Trespassing" signs in the movie made me think of the tort of trespass. Overall, however, I am annoying Michael less, and that is always a good thing.

On Thursday, I went back to Peacemaker Floors to approve a new hardwood floors selection. Apparently, our initial selection is not available right now. The good news is the store is replacing our initial selection with a better version! Something about micro-beveled edges versus straight edges??? It looks the same to me and it has a 25 year warranty as opposed to 10, so all is well.

The "old" selection is on the left in the middle and the "new" selection is on the right.

This is the new version. Bruce Hardwood, Dundee strip, in Natural.

On Saturday, August 2, Michael and I headed to see the progress on the house and it has been incredible!

Our driveway is in!

The air conditioning units and deck are in!

Michael is very proud of the first floor bathroom because he picked out the tile himself.

The cabinets, granite, and ovens are in! (The granite is still covered with plastic, which is why it looks weird in the picture.)

Michael is very happy in front of the fireplace, flat panel pre-wire, and 3 of our surround sound speakers in the ceiling.

This is our deck with the fireplace protruding out.

Currently, I use our toaster oven for all my oven needs so the prospect of two ovens is a bit overwhelming. Anyone want to give me cooking lessons?

I picked the tile for the upstairs hall bathroom. Michael thinks it is "very girly." I couldn't agree more!

Tray ceiling is in the Master Bedroom!

The Master Bathroom is half finished, so I will wait to post pictures until it is done. All I can say is so far it looks better than we expected!!!
